Sarvodhya International Trust observes Anti-Leprosy Day

JAN 30, 2016: Sarvodhya International Trust Jammu and Kashmir observed Anti Leprosy Day and Gandhi Ji's Martyrdom here today.
On the occasion, Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Secretary Health and Medical Association Department, J&K Government was the Chief Guest. The programme tarted with hoisting of the National Flag.
The members of SITJK who were present on the occasion included T. Angchok, Ravinder Singh, Dr. V. Bhutiyal, Major General S.K. Sharma, Robin Gill and President Jammu Wine Association Charanjeet Singh, B.S. Jamwal and office bearers of the Bar and Restaurants, Jammu.
Dr. Renu Nanda, Managing Trustee, highlighted significance of the life and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. She urged the Secretary Health and Medical Education Department to pay special attention towards the patients who are living in Kusht Ashram for proper medical attention. She thanked the President Wine Traders Association and its office bearers and the President Bar and Restaurant Association, Jammu and its office bearers . Speaking on this occasion Dr. Mandeep Bhandari expressed his gratitude towards SITJK for organizing the event. He further highlighted the role of Mahatma Gandhi in Sarvodya. Professor G.N. Bhat, Sr. Vice Chairman, SITJK thanked guests including media persons and other citizens for participation in the program.

SITJAC organizes a function at Balgran

Oct 2, 2015: Sarvodaya International Trust Jammu and Kashmir Chapter (SITJAC) organized a function today at Balgran—A Home for Destitute Children, Channi Rama.
Justice Permod Kohli, Chairperson was the chief guest and all members including Major General (Retd) SK Sharma, Dr VK Bhutyal, Ravinder Singh, Robin and Dr Renu Nanda along with Mr Khajuria, Secretary, Mr Arora, Patron, Mr Sharma, President, Mrs Arora, Principal, teachers, members and staff of Home were present.
Nearly, 200 students and children of the home participated in the function by performing cultural items which include prayer song and dance, action song, bhajan.
Justice Kohli shared the principles based on cleanliness and simplicity.
Refreshments books on Mahatma Gandhi were distributed to all the children including teachers.
The programme ended with singing of National Anthem.
The programme was conducted very ably by children who welcomed and thanked all. The children of Home had worked very hard under the guidance of Principal and teachers to put up this programme.

Justice Permod Kohli new chairman of SIT, J&K Chapter

Justice Permod Kohli appointed new chairman of Sarvodaya International Trust (SIT) Jammu and Kashmir Chapter by the trustees on Tuesday. In this regard was meeting held by the trustees, here today during the meeting future plans for Jammu and Kashmir, especially for youth of the state for welfare of the society were discussed. Speaking on the occasion, Managing Trustee, Pascal Alan Nazareth, who is author of Gandhi's Outstanding Leadership', informed that the Sarvodaya International Trust established in 1995 to help promote Gandhian values of peace, tolerance and non-violence. "Trust's chapter opened in all over country from Kerala to Kashmir, "he added. He also highlighted values of Gandhi's philosophy and elaborated the four core values including truth, non-violence, love for all and untiring desire to serve which can ultimately give happiness to all. He expressed serious concern over the modern society's scant respect to the ideals of truth and non-violence, preached and practiced by Mahatma Gandhi. "To join hand to hand for the work of welfare of society and extend the views of Gandhi, "he stated and adding the trust has been done numbers of works for the youth, society as well as organized numbers of seminar in this regards in view of development of youth. While, Justice Permod Kohli said, "We have some plans and target areas including central jail, whether is there criminal or under trail, and universities of the country for their welfare. He also said, the trust also focus villages of the state, deprived society for communal harmony, brotherhood in all three region of the state. He further said that, trust will hold seminars and film shows to promote Gandhi's philosophy in coming days. "We have plans for the welfare of the people and especially youth, " he emphasized. Dr. Renu Nanda, Managing Trustee, SIT, J&K Chapter presented a vote of thanks. Among others who were attendant the meeting included Prof. GM Bhat, VK Bhutyal, Robin Gill, Tsering Angchok and S.Ravinder Singh.
